We are thankful and ever so grateful to God for sending Elder Bellamy, his lovely wife Hattie, daughter Sabrina, son Willie Jr. and their grandchildren, Kendale Sr. and Katorah to Woodlawn, Maryland, from Orange, New Jersey in March 1987, to be ordained as the Pastor of the Second Shiloh’s Church Family.

Elder Bellamy did not hide his love for Jesus Christ nor that he considered himself a friend of God. Elder Bellamy often expressed Jesus Christ being head and first in his life (Jesus was the best that ever happened to Elder). Elder Bellamy demonstrated his leadership, love, knowledge and understanding of God’s Holy Word through daily illustrations while teaching; asking us to answer questions by describing how the scripture related to us and how it applied in our lives. He loved to teach! It did not matter what type of service was being held, if a question arose or an opportunity to teach arose, Pastor Bellamy was inclined and honored to answer the call of duty – preach and teach the Word of God.

Elder Bellamy preached hard and tried to instill in us to know God’s Word for ourselves. Not only know the Word, but live it, which could only be done by studying line upon line. He believed, if we did this, we would know the truth. One of his many sayings, “If you don’t love the Word, then you don’t love Jesus because Jesus is the Word.” Our Pastor loved the children and especially believed and expressed the importance of our children studying and knowing God’s Word just as the adults because we are all being judged by the “same” Word.

We have truly missed our beloved Pastor’s smiles; hearty and distinguished laughter, which could be recognized throughout a room; his wisdom, which seemed to have been ongoing, as he taught, he continued learning God’s Word. We have missed him being a brother and a friend but most of all we miss him as our leader, who definitely watched for our souls. Elder Bellamy’s memories will live on. We loved our Pastor!
